The Kentucky Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (K-HIIN) is part of the Health Research & Educational Trust's (HRET) a two-year contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to continue efforts to reduce hospital-acquired conditions and readmissions. Thanks to the work of hospitals across the country that participated in the HRET Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) and HEN 2.0, we have been able to save over 87,000 lives resulting in over $19.8 billion in cost savings over the past four years! The HRET HIIN will align, accelerate and amplify the prior HRET HEN and Quality Improvement Network-Quality Improvement Organizations (QIN-QIO) successes to pursue the ambitious new goals of reducing all-cause inpatient harm by 20 percent and readmissions by 12 percent by 2019.
The 2018 A Day for Infection Preventionists is aimed at supporting Kentucky infection prevention professionals in their daily work to reduce health care associated infections and provide quality patient care. The one day conference builds on foundational skills provided in previous educational offerings as well as explores topics with emerging importance.
The target audience includes Infection Preventionists, Chief Nursing Officers, Risk Managers, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety personnel in the hospital.
